Improves shoulder mobility and strength and can help with activities such as getting dressed and opening cupboards.
Start with ten gentle circles.

Make this easier
- Keep your elbows soft.
- Circle below shoulder height.

Make this harder
- Gradually make your circles bigger.
- Add in anti-clockwise circles (sunset circles).
Method
Step 1
Start with soft (gently bent) elbows and progress to straight arms.
Step 2
Ensure the movement is from your shoulder.
Step 3
Cross and circle arms slowly up and out.

If you suffer from COPD, please do not have your hands above your head for more than 3 seconds.
